Create new applications

The Geckno framework allows to add new geographical applications in a simple way. All we need is a picture (typically a geographical map, on which the labels are erased), and the corresponding names.

We are pleased to receive propositions for new applications by e-mail (see contact). The chances for a proposition to be incorporated will be increased, if the following terms are complied with.

Conditions with regard to content

• No too local scope (e.g. not: The urban districts of Wolverhampton) [1]
• (perhaps more will follow here. Considering good manners and such stuff)

Conditions with regard to technique

• A picture will be deliverd.
• The picture is trimmed to 600x600 pixels.
• The picture is in the format PNG.
• There is a second picture, on which the geo points are plotted, in order to facilitate the correct settings of the geo points. It's even better, when these geo points are assigned to names by means of little numbers or by lines. [2]
• The names are correctly written in a plain text e-mail. With line breaks, so that it's easy to copypaste them.
• If the names are different in French, German, and English (e.g. Allemagne ≠ Germany ≠ Deutschland), than they should also be deliverd in the three mentioned languages.

[1] = Perhaps it will be possible at a later stage, that the urban districts of Wolverhampton are presented to the visitors from Englands West Midlands, while other visitors are not dazzeld by such a local scope. But these are yet just visionary dreams.

[2] = Perhaps it will be possible at a later stage, that logged in users can create their own applications and set their own geo points in a web 2.0 manner. But these are yet just visionary dreams.
